Braids
Synopsis
Lili is in CM1 at a new school, far from the countryside where she grew up. The integration is not easy but she quickly becomes friends with Dado. As the class photo approaches, Lili is doing African braids and Dado is straightening his hair. It's an opportunity to look for something in the other that they don't have, even if it means endangering their friendship

Leïla Macaire
Leïla Macaire is a director and photographer living in Paris. Graduated from the Ecole de la Cité in directing and self-taught in photography, the visual language has always allowed her to express her personal questions about the world. Her work is most often articulated around themes such as difference, social diversity and identity. In photo as in film, she alternates between documentary and fiction. These two different approaches make it possible to treat her interest for reality and for the aesthetics of the image under different forms.
