Cristèle Alves Meira
Trained as an actress, Cristèle was first a theater director. She directed a first documentary in Cape Verde, "Som & Morabeza", where she raises the question of immigration in Portuguese-speaking communities in Africa through the theme of music. She then directed two short fiction films, a summer film and a winter film, in her mother's village in Tras-os-Montes: "Sol branco" (selected for Premiers plans d'Angers, Entrevues de Belfort , Côté Court de Pantin…) then “Campo de Víboras”, selected for Critics' Week, IndieLisboa and Clermont-Ferrand. Her latest short film, "Invisível herói" was pre-purchased by France 2, obtained French-Portuguese co-production aid from the CNC/ICA, support from the City of Lisbon as well as post-production aid from the Ile-de-France region. Cristèle is currently preparing her first feature film entitled “Bruxa”.
