Traces
Synopsis
36 000 years ago, in the gorges of the Ardèche, an animal drawn is an animal hunted. When the time of hunting and tracing returns, Gwel takes the head of the group of hunters while Karou the tracer and his apprentice Lani go to draw in the monumental cave. This journey is disrupted by a cave lion.

About
Hugo Frassetto
After graduating from the Clermont-Ferrand school of Fine-Art, Hugo Frassetto continued his studies at the La Poudrière animated film school in Bourg-lès-Valence. He explored sand animation for his degree show film Traverser. Since 2009, he has worked as an animator on several animation films : Sous un coin de ciel bleu (by A. Demuynck and C. Marreiros Marum), Vasco (animated sand, dir. S. Laudenbach), TV series like Bingo Bongo and Miru Miru. He also worked on the story-board of the documentary D-Day from P. Wuong (2013). He has made short films La Garde-Barrière 2011), Braise (sable animé, 2012), Qui j’ose aimer (co-produced with L. Deydier, 2014) and Promenons-nous (2017). Working with Sophie Tavert Macian, he wrote Traces (2019), a short animated film using paint and sand, one of his favourite techniques.
Sophie Tavert Macian
Director and scriptwriter, Sophie Tavert made her first film Apparences as part of her baccalaureat studies. During her time studying film production at university, she made eight films in 16 mm and DV, all self-produced and highly experimental. In 2009 she wrote and directed Un amour(Takami Productions), which was selected for the festivals in Clermont-Ferrand and Uppsala, followed by MAD (Films Grand Huit) in 2016, which won the grand prix at the Kinoma festival, the special jury prize at the Alès Itinérances festival, and the young audiences prize at Cinemed, Villeurbanne.
She co-directed Traces(2019) with Hugo Frassetto, using animated paintings and sand, wrote her first full length film and is working in parallel on various products, including animation and photography, TV specials, feature films, series, etc.
