Katshinau
Synopsis
In New France before the British Conquest, Marie, an indigenous slave, serves the local surgeon. Her daily life of household chores is bleak and alienating. The encounter with a young girl she presumes to be her child will give her motivation to undertake radical actions.

Jani Bellefleur-Kaltush
Originally from the Innu community of Nutashkuan, Jani Bellefleur-Kaltush is a filmmaker, artist and translator. She has made several short films, including one that won an award at Toronto's imagiNATIVE Festival. Nika tshika uiten mishkut was presented in official competition at the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM), the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois in Montreal and the Festival Regard sur le court-métrage in Saguenay. Her latest film Tshima it (Amen) has been selected for several festivals. In 2017, she took part in a group exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts entitled Kushapetshekan / Kosapitcikan. In 2022, she made La Forge - Édition 2022 and is currently writing on several projects.

Julien G. Marcotte is a writer and director living in Montreal. He graduated from Université de Montréal in 2018. Louise de 9 à 5 is his first short film. His second, Les mains sales, financed by SODEC through their emerging creation program, is currently in pre-production.
