Pier-Philippe Chevigny is a filmmaker from Montreal, Quebec. His fiction films combine anxiety-inducing mise-en-scène with contemporary social themes. In 2019, his short film Recrue received worldwide recognition: more than 130 festival selections (including Toronto, Busan, Namur, Stockholm, Vladivostok, etc.) and 30 awards (including an Oscar nomination for Best Short Film awarded by the Tirana Film Festival). His first feature film, Richelieu, completed in 2023, has had an equally impressive run, with selections at Karlovy Vary, Tribeca, Palm Springs, Fantasia, Vancouver, Athens, and Namur, where the film was awarded the prestigious Bayard for Best First Film. Pier-Philippe is currently developing several projects under Le Foyer, including his second feature film.
