Synopsis
9 year-old Sarah is quietly discovering love when an assault derails her sexual awakening. Summer 2000 is an intimate and delicate tale in which the play between different mediums offers an insight into gender performativity and consent.

Film director and producer from Montreal, Virginie Nolin reflects on feminist and queer issues. She directed OK (Festival du Nouveau Cinéma 2021) and Sleeping Longing (BFI Flare, Rhode Island 2019). She produced 10+ short films that toured worldwide including Lunar-Orbit RendezVous (Locarno 2018) and Rupture (TIFF, New Directors New Films 2017).
Laurence Olivier
Laurence Olivier is a writer and filmmaker. Her film Phantom poem was awarded the Best experimental short prize at Vues dans la tête de (2023), and her novel Répertoire des villes disparues (Herbes rouges, 2015) was adapted for the screen by Denis Côté (Ghost Town Anthology, 2019).
