Synopsis

Harvey takes place during the first few days of spring, that time of year when kids are eager to see the snow melt and to cast off their winter coats, which suddenly seem way too warm. For ur eponymous protagonist, though, this spring will mark him forever - because this is the spring when his father passes away.

About

Janice Nadeau

Janice Nadeau is a Professor at École de design de l’UQAM where she teaches drawing and illustration. She holds a Ph.D (2023) and a master's degree both in research-creation in film studies from the Université de Montréal (2018), a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2002), as well as a communication certificate, illustration option, from the École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg (ESADS, 2001). She illustrated ten books — including "Nul poisson Où aller" (2003) and "Harvey" (2008) — with which she won the prestigious Governor General’s Award in Illustration three times (2004, 2008, 2009). She also co-directed and directed tree animated films ("No Fish Where to Go", 2014; "Mamie" 2016; "Harvey" 2023) which were selected in official competition in more than fifty international festivals and won, among others, the Japan Foundation President’s Prize, and the FIPRESCI Prize of the international federation of the cinematographic press at the Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy.
