Cartes blanches
As every year, part of the program is also offered by partners and/or friends, to make the public’s experience even richer : one program by France Télévisions and a Belgian focus presented by the Le court qui en dit long festival
Focus belge francophone - Le Court en dit long
Thursady, September 12 – 3pm
A focus on Belgian short films brought to you by the Le Court en dit long festival.
“Le Court en dit long” is first and foremost the name of the annual catalogue which, from 1987 to 2011, listed the short films produced in Wallonia and Brussels, published by the Direction générale de l’Audiovisuel et des multimédias of the Ministère de la Communauté française de Belgique.
Since 1993, it has also been the name of the annual Festival of Belgian French-language short films organised by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris, which presents a selection from the hundred or so films produced each year, including films by schools and students, self-produced films and films supported by the Film Selection Commission of the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, in all genres. In 2003, the Festival became competitive. It has introduced a host of filmmakers, including Olivier Smolders, Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon, Ursula Meier, Delphine Noëls, Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier, Frédéric Fonteyne and Guillaume Senez, Xavier Seron and Méryl Fortunat-Rossi, Valéry Rosier, Emmanuelle Nicot, Ann Sirot and Raphaël Balboni, Joachim Lafosse, Vincent Lannoo, Jean-Benoît Ugeux, Laura Wandel, Rachel Lang, Michiel Blanchart, Michèle Jacob and Paul Vincent de Lestrade.
France Télévisions
Tuesday, September 10 – 2pm
Every year, as part of the Off-Courts festival, France Télévisions offers a carte blanche allowing you to discover the richness and diversity of the works of young filmmakers supported by France Télé’s Short Film Unit, which buys and pre-purchases nearly a hundred films each year.
Also, since 2014, the France Télévisions Group has partnered with Off-Courts Trouville to highlight the work of young production structures, thus confirming France Télévisions’ attachment to and support for the young independent French production sector.
