Valentine Caille
Valentine Caille began her career at Censier, Sorbonne Nouvelle and then in London, where she studied at Saint Martins' School and Goldsmiths University. She graduated with a degree in scenography and video art. In 2010, she directed her first production, "The Tiny Crimes of H.Harris", for The Work Festival, of which she is artistic director. Since 2015, she has directed several self-produced short films, including "Fabienne Haustant", a docu-drama about a visually-impaired dancer, and "Les Anges" with students in rehabilitation from the Relais scheme. The film was selected for the Oberhausen Film Festival and broadcast on TV5 Monde. Every year, she carries out film and theater projects with these teenagers from the same scheme. In 2017, following theater workshops given at an emergency shelter in Dakar, she shot a documentary on young women victims of violence; "La Maison Rose". In 2019, after meeting author Marie Yan, she created the Lou Pantail theater company, followed by the creation of "La Théorie" - selected at the Impatience 2021 Festival. Currently, they are both developing a writing and theater project with young inmates at a closed educational center. Her latest film, "Amarres", produced by Chaz production, was selected for the Clermont Ferrand 2023 festival. Accompanied by the "Take Shelter" production company, Valentine Caille is currently writing her first feature film. It is an adaptation of her short film "Amarres".
