Thematics programs

Thematic programs are offered to take you into various worlds where French and Quebec shorts intertwine.

Because one of our primary goals is to show short films, many more films in thematic programs, carte blanche, outdoor screenings and programs for young audiences. There is something for all tastes and for all ages!

Made in Trouville

Saturday, September 6 – 7pm
*Preceded by the opening evening and presentation of the jury

The launch of our festival would not be possible without our in-house program: the short films that Studio Off-Courts has helped, supported or produced, in France and abroad.

Court Mais Trash

Saturday , September 6 at 10:30pm

The legendary Court mais trash evening programme is back.

Thrills, scares and lots of blood – these are the ingredients of a program designed to give you a good scare! Afterwards, don’t hesitate to come and comfort yourself in the Village with smiling, caring humans.

Histoires de familles

Saturday, September 5 – 11:00 a.m.

The family—that strange laboratory where wounds and safe havens are created in equal measure.

There, we inherit old ghosts, stubborn quirks, and well-ordered silences, but also, very often, a great deal of tenderness and an astonishing ability to reinvent everyday life. The characters in this selection move at a child’s eye level or with their feet planted in chaos, armed with imagination, stubbornness, and an enduring gentleness.

Because we don’t always choose what we carry, but we can choose how to carry it—and sometimes, to not carry it alone.

Dimanche matin

Sunday, September 6 – 10:30 a.m.

We wanted something lighthearted to wrap up the weekend. A “short & sweet” selection that’ll make you smile, tugs at your heartstrings just enough, and might just give you the boost you need to get back on track.

Don’t throw away your movie tickets—they’ll grant you access to a Seafood Barbecue at the Village after the screening.

Normandie, cinéma en région

Thursday, September 10 – 2:00 p.m.

Films from Normandy and/or directed by people from Normandy and/or shot in Normandy and/or supported by funding programs established by regional institutions… in Normandy. And since people from Normandy love to travel, part of the program takes place all over the world—boudiou!

Politik

Sunday, September 6—9:30 p.m.

If you’re a regular at the festival, you already know this program… a staple since 2002 and our aborted attempt at “Aüs Courts”!

Climate, politics, social ties, relationships with others—we hope these films will help keep your eyes open, your mind active, and that everyone can take part in a shared reflection.
