Synopsis
Marion and Camille, 15, are inseparable. They arrive on a southern island for their final school trip, full of excitement and expectation. It’s a time of firsts, and the abrupt end of carefree days.

About
Mathilde Bedouet
Mathilde Bédouet has been drawing since she was a child and decided very early on to make it her career. She first studied drawing at Olivier de Serres before going on to specialize in filmmaking at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. After working at an agency, she directed several music videos using rotoscoping (a technique that involves drawing over live-action video footage). At the same time, she created illustrations for magazines and a children’s book. It was with the rap music video “All I Knew” that she developed what would become her signature visual style: rotoscoping combined with traditional animation on paper using colored pencils. Using the same technique, she directed her first short film, Été 96, which won the 2024 César Award for Best Animated Short Film. Dernier Printemps is her second film.
