Mini-Cinema
Off-Courts Trouville started out on the 1st floor of a small wine bar in the rue des Bains with a 12-seat cinema! As a tribute to our beginnings, we’ve decided to return to the mini-screening room to bring you even more films in 8 different programmes.
Special 75th anniversary program: 25 + 25 + 25
This year, two structures of Quebec friends are celebrating, just like us, their 25ᵉ anniversaries! All three of us born in the last days of the 20ᵉ century, we have grown up together and it seems important to us to get together and celebrate this quarter of a century (or this ¾ of a century!). We know how hard it is to last, that you have to be a bit utopian, punk and tenacious, and we will take this opportunity to give each other a nice pat on the back. The 75ᵉ programmes feature retrospectives of landmark films from the last 25 years. Long live them all!
VIVE PRENDS ÇA COURT ! LIBRE
Prends ça court! is a programming machine and institutional brainteaser run by Danny Lennon since 1999. Born in the mode of a ‘cinematographic cabaret’ that celebrated the best of Quebec short film every month, PCC also developed the Prends ça court! Gala, which rewards Quebec short film every year in Montreal with various prizes totalling over $322,000 in bursaries and services awarded to film teams, a model unequalled in the short film sector. As Basta would say: ‘My thuggish feet are made for trampling kings’.

25th Kino Montreal
Off-Courts’ collaboration with Kino Montréal began in 2004, but the movement that began in Montreal in 1999 has since gone global. Offering moments to exchange, explore and create remains a core value of the movement, and this creative ‘layer’ added to Off-Courts gives it its creative and human flavour. The programming for the three programmes, featuring some forty films, was concocted by our friend Rémi Fréchette, a seasoned Montreal kinoïte.

The bearded mermaid, the movie
To tie in with the cabaret presented on Sunday evening, we present a film inspired by the life of the Dieppe cabaret and its bearded mermaids.
Directed by Nicolas Bellenchombre and Arthur Delamotte
Saturday 7 September at 3pm| Monday 9 September at 5pm
Synopsis :
The drag queens from the La Sirène à Barbe cabaret put on a spectacular show, with singing, circus and dance – something the town of Dieppe has never seen before. Erwan, a local fisherman, is spellbound. He ventures into their world of joy and celebration and discovers, behind the costumes of the stage characters, tormented, lonely, over-sensitive human beings who are prepared to do anything to take this project as far as it can go. It’s a portrait of a small port town inhabited as much by gloomy daily lives as by extraordinary destinies.
Court mais trash
For the first 10 years of Off-Courts, a special programme was presented in the evening at midnight, with a simple editorial line: films you wouldn’t want your children or grandmothers to see!
To mark this 25th edition, the famous Short but trashy programme is back in the evening, live from the village, in our mini-cinema room.
