Curated by Nicolas Khabbaz, Artistic and Programming Director of Beirut Shorts and the Batroun Mediterranean Film Festival, this special selection brings together five Lebanese short films that offer a portrait of a vibrant and resilient Lebanon.
There are the ruins, of course, but also everything that continues to live and take shape around them. Through themes of memory, work, desire and survival, these five films offer a multifaceted portrait of the country, far from any single narrative. Each film captures the complexity of everyday life in its own way, balancing realism, irony and poetry. A selection in which cinema does more than bear witness to reality—it also finds new ways of looking at it.
