Mathieu Madenian
Mathieu Madénian is a columnist, actor, and comedian. After starting his career as a lawyer, Mathieu Madénian decided, at age 25, to leave that field and turn to comedy. He was then hired by France 2 to work on the set of the series Un gars, une fille, providing various voice-overs between 2000 and 2003. He then turned to the stage, performing several one-man shows he wrote himself, directed by Kader Aoun, which ran at the Théâtre Trévise until March 2012 and then toured until the end of 2014.
Mathieu Madénian then made his television debut on Michel Drucker’s show Vivement dimanche prochain, where he hosted a comedy segment, alternating with Anne Roumanoff, Éric Antoine, and Nicolas Canteloup. In the fall of 2011, he became a panelist on Michel Drucker’s Faites entrer l’invité on Europe 16, a role he held until May 2013. He tried his hand at film in 2013 and 2014, appearing in Mona Achache’s Les Gazelles and Tonie Marshall’s Tu veux ou tu veux pas. After narrowly escaping the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January 2015, he has been writing a weekly column for the magazine since September 2014.
