Non-competitive programs
Because we want to offer a wide range of short films, several other programs are offered throughout the week to discover almost 90 additional short films. For all ages and tastes, themed programs and cartes blanches are on the menu.
Thematics programs
Thematic programs are offered to take you into various worlds where French and Quebec shorts intertwine.
Because one of our primary goals is to show short films, many more films in thematic programs, carte blanche, outdoor screenings and programs for young audiences. There is something for all tastes and for all ages!
New this year, the documentary is in the spotlight and, even if it is presented in a thematic program, it is eligible for a new prize this year: the prize for best documentary!
Outdoor screenings
Two outdoor movie evenings, under the stars of Trouville-sur-Mer, are on offer this year. Don’t forget your little blanket to comfortably enjoy the screenings. In the event of rain, the screenings will be moved to the Salon des Gouverneurs of the Casino at the same times.
Cartes blanches
As every year, part of the program is also offered by partners and/or friends, to make the public’s experience even richer : one program by France Télévisions and a Belgian focus presented by the Le court qui en dit long festival
Youth programs for schools
The Off-Courts team has always had a special place for young audiences. It’s through school screenings, which take place in primary, middle, high school and university, that we put into action our image education workshops, which of course begin with screenings.
*Screenings reserved for registered school groups.
Short to feature programs
Every year, we like to honor filmmakers who started out making shorts, and who are now making feature-length films. One or more shorts, a glass of friendship if the weather’s right, a feature-length film and a discussion: these are the From short to feature evenings.
In September, we’ll be welcoming a Quebec director and a French director for two programs where you can get a glimpse of their careers. Short or long, long live cinema!
