Synopsis
Kouassi finally has a date with Fati, the girl he’s loved for a long time. Everything goes perfectly: a wonderful time, a good meal, smiles… so much so that he forgets his bike! But when he goes back to get it, it’s gone. Blending romance, humor, and a nighttime mishap, The Bike tells the story of how a simple date can change an entire evening…

Komla Emmanuel Torko
Komla Emmanuel Torko is a versatile Togolese filmmaker who specializes in directing, cinematography, and video editing. With a background in general computer science and audiovisual production, he began his professional career at Wyclife Togo (2018) before honing his skills in cinematography and editing at Eternel est mon Berger Production (2020–2022). He continued his training in video editing at Trace Afrique Academy and Trace Academia in 2023, where he developed a more professional approach to reporting and audiovisual content. Between 2024 and 2026, he gained experience in directing at Sound and Light Productions and Ciné Cours Canada, while further honing his expertise as a director of photography through collaborations with Off-Courts (2025) and Cine Lab (2026). He also participated in major events such as the Togo International Film Festival (FIFTO 2024), where he served as a director. His experience spans several short films and audiovisual projects, including Redemption, Enjaillement, Miroir, and La bonne, as well as productions currently in development such as Un trans pour Paris and Les hommes de la lagune. He is also the creator of the film The Bike (7 min), in which he served as both producer and director. Through his works, he has developed a style characterized by mastery of the image, a sensitivity to light, and a strong commitment to visual storytelling. His work blends artistic direction, technical skill, and narrative engagement, driven by a desire to advance Togolese and African cinema.
