Un ticket pour l’Europe
Synopsis
Aményo is a 28-year-old idler who spends his days wandering around the town of Kpalimé with no plans for the future—until the day he runs into Roland, a friend who has returned from abroad. Aményo is fascinated by Roland’s new lifestyle; Roland has become rich thanks to his travels. He decides to do the same, but how should he go about it? The solution is obvious: become a tour guide, charm a white woman, marry her, and move to Europe thanks to her. After many attempts, Aményo finally pulls it off, but nothing goes as planned. Will he manage to make his dream come true despite everything?

About
Mathieu Apla
After earning a two-year associate’s degree in the science track, I studied natural sciences at the University of Lomé, followed by training in multimedia (camera operation and framing, editing a television report using Premiere Pro and Photoshop), and then training in Togolese taxation at the OTR’s Institute for Tax and Customs Training. I currently work as a tax collection officer at the OTR Kpalimé division. As my love for cinema has taken over, I am on the lookout for opportunities that can help me expand my knowledge, which is why I participated in the CNA TOGO “Looking Closer” production workshop in August 2022 in Kpalimé. I worked with the fiction team and directed our short fiction film A Ticket to Europe, my very first film.
